Spider Web Cushion!

The weekend was spent finishing off some projects. ..my spider web stitchery I made up into a cushion. It's nice to finally have it finished, as I have been unsure what to make it into...wall hanging or cushion. As I don't have a lot of wall space, decided on a cushion!

The garden is starting to come to life...buds on my Banksia, which covers the cubby house and my weeping cherry is also in bud. Anxiously waiting to take some pics of them when they flower.

I hope you enjoy your week

Daffodils

I thought I would go and have a look at my daffodils, as I hadn't checked them out in a while...and was quite pleased at the variety of colours. They were planted a couple of years ago, but last year Jess (our golden retriever) would dig them out, so they didn't get a chance to fully flower. I never seem to have much luck with bulbs, as I always seem to dig into them when I'm weeding the garden...but these ones I have in a wine barrel which is much better!

My little blue wren that visits daily, has been without his little partner for a few days now...maybe she's sitting on the nest and we'll have baby wrens visit soon...well that's what I'm hoping!
Bye for Now

A Little One!

Yes I have to admit, I do have a bag addiction! But whilst I was making my previous bag, I had the idea for this little one...just a very simple stitchery and design which makes it very quick to make!

It seems every time I hop on the computer the kids need (nag) me for something...now I am needed to do a taxi run!

'My Garden' Bag Finished!

Nice to have another finish...even though hubby tells me 'not another bag'! I went out to the sewing room this morning, to finish off the bag, and discovered the wall near my wood heater was black with ants! Wonder if that means a change in weather...but I know I don't like sharing my sewing room with ants!!!!

Todays sewing!

It was nice to get out into the sewing room this morning and do some sewing...even though it's only a little one! The little stitchery took no time to stitch last night and hopefully I will get a chance to get back out this arvo to make the matching bag.

I hope you are getting a chance for some craftiness this weekend!

A Garden Welcome!

Horrible, cold and windy day here today, with the power going off at about 9.30am and coming back on at about 8pm. All the things I do automatically do each day could not be done...washing, ironing and vacuuming! So the only thing left to do was to sit and stitch!!! I hope to get this one made up over the weekend if all goes well!

Bye For Now

Todays Favourite pics!

I don't think that Jess was very impressed having her picture taken with the turtle...although it did cause me much amusement!lol!

Just like clock work our little wrens visits about 10am, lunchtime (when this pic was taken) and at 4pm, as I am typing this he is just outside the sliding door, playing with his little partner!

A Small Finish

I managed to finish off my Needles and Pins today...just a simple needle book with pincushion attached.

I have also been cleaning up some old projects to put on my verandah. The doll I made a few years back, and the folk art drum I painted about 5 years ago...everything was spray painted black a painted with natives back then!

We had a gorgeous spring day here today...but unfortunately the dreaded wind is back tomorrow!

Pizza, Pies and Spring Flowers

This afternoons cooking efforts...pies and pizza's...we sometimes buy take-away pizza's as a treat, but each time we do they seem to go up in price, and as I have to buy 3, I have decided to just make them! BBQ sauce, pork, roast chicken, salami, onion (much to my daughters disgust) rocket and last of all cheese.
The pies are for my boys to take camping...chicken, onion, bacon and potatoes

A couple of snapshots from my garden...gotta love daisies and the red one is a favourite! I am finding that we still don't seem to have many bees in the garden yet...hope we get some soon to polinate the fruit trees!

A little drawing that I did today with all my favoutites...daisies, butterflies and of course my little friend the Wren. This will be the next one to stitch!

Gotcha...my little feathered friend!!!

Can you remember my little wren stitchery from a few weeks back? Well this little chap and partner has been visiting me daily, and today was the day when I finally got a good pic...well as good as I could get from inside! His little partner was in the tea tree next to the bird bath, while he had a bath. When they first started to visit,he didn't have all his colours, now he is a vibrant blue...and so very cute!!

I hope you all have a great week!

Grandma's Teatime Quilt!

Just an oldie today, I made Grandma's Tea-time quilt a few years back. It was made up of 8 inch blocks, with fussy cut roses at the top and applique tea-cup and tea-pot at the bottom. Unfortunately I have nowhere to hang this quilt now, and it is draped over one of my unused sewing machines in the sewing room.
Another wet day here, the kids are now on holidays and all they want to do is ride their motor bikes. Hopefully the weather will improve for them.
Enjoy your Sunday
