Kitchen reno...

Time has come to update our little kitchen...when I look at this photo all I see is green!lol! It has been quite exciting with the joiner visiting yesterday to take measurements, shopping for cooktops, ovens, lights etc.
The plan is to have white washed pine ceiling with downlights,
white tiles, white benchtops, extend the breakfast bar and have more cupboards underneath

new oven and cooktop

this is the oven and cooktop I have picked out. Induction cooktop and pyrolytic oven

We visited the Home Centre for a few ideas, I thought the lazy susan a great idea!
I will post some progress photos as we go!

A Bit Of Everything in this post...

I have been trying to squeeze all my favourites things in these last couple of weeks...

Most of today was spent finishing of this months stitch-a-long project...Natalie Birds True Friends Tote from her Red Home book

Pleased how it turned out...I love Nat Birds designs!

a photo a my favourite rose after the rain

Trying out a new recipe book of Julie Goodwin and cooking Filet Mignon, and it was delicious!!!

And I have been playing with week 8 of project life. I am pleased I can be quite creative with my pages and combine scrapbooking and sewing with the machine. I will share a few pages in another post.
I hope to be back soon with my progress on the crochet along...we also have a few new ladies join us which is fantastic!

Spot the difference...

Can you remember this photo from a few days back??

Determined to make my scrapping area a bit more pretty

Can you spot the difference? lol Here's a closer look...

Some pretty floral fabric added to the back of the shelving...wished I had enough fabric to do it all in one colour as I loved the larger blue floral the best!

I little bit of gardening on the weekend...my garden has become a bit neglected over the warmer months, it so dry!!

And just for a bit of fun!!

My week in photos...

When I decided to start a Project Life Album, I wondered if I would be able to fill it with the weekly events that take place in my life...but boy was I mistaken! These are few pics that I have snapped over the week and I have to admit I am LOVING taking the photos!

We went out fishing on Monday (a long weekend here) and caught some fish for tea...and you can't beat freshly cooked flathead and homemade chips.

I also decided that it was to hard having to scrapbook in another room, so I shuffled things around in my sewing room to make room for another table for scrapping. My sewing room needed a tidy up so the above photo is my favourite sewing spot

And in the opposite corner I have set up my scrapping table. Can you see my new vintage toy on desk? Thank you Ebay!

And some early stitching this morning

Oh I love tidy! But how long will it last?? lol

Crochet a long

My sister and I have both been keen to start a crochet project and decided to do a crochet a long and make a cushion together. The pattern is a freebie (and easy), so if anyone would like to join us, just let me know (I will add your link to my sidebar) and we can all encourage each other along the way to the finish line! I have even talked Mum into doing it also, so I will share some photo's of Mums work along the way. If you pop over to Janes blog, she has the link to the Copenhagen Pillow pattern.

I have been playing with a few african flowers, just to get back into the swing of things!

And they quickly grew!
Now I have my colours worked out, I am ready to start!

My Project Life...

Well it has taken me quite some time to put together my first few pages of my PL Album together...i am still waiting on a few more supplies but as they arrive I can go back over my pages and add things if needed.

I have kept things quite simple...this is my Cover page

And week four...which is where I am making a start as I didn't even start scrapbooking until mid January

week 4 a photo of Dad taken back in the late 1950's turned up in our local newsletter when he played in the local cricket team...along with photos of my 3 uncles, 2 of which have now passed away.

I am really enjoying this so much...wished I had done it sooner!

And heres a little snapshot of a plate full of flowers in my craft room...real ones (Jane McGrath rose) and some made with lace and fabric, taken with my new iphone (which I am loving so much).
I have also joined Instagram, so look out for cubbyhousecrafts there too for some more pics

Bye For Now
I am off to trace a stitchery for this months stitch-a-long project
