As I was hanging the washing on the line this morning...there was quite was quite a riot going on amongst the Wattle and Minor birds in the Protea. By the time I went and grabbed the camera, the Wattle Birds had it won! They are quite territorial and are always chasing the other birds away. We have had them nest in the backyard for a few years now...not sure whether its a good thing or not, as I also like the smaller birds to visit!
Hope you all have a great week!

Sounds like a bit of bullying amongst the birds! It would've been pretty noisy!
We have those Wattle birds. They are so cheeky, they even try to take on the cats. Your protea is gorgeous!
Must be a sign of a good bush/tree. I just love proteas.
oh I have my bird pics I took them last week........
wished I could grow a protea.......
Wish we had your birds in England.
In my garden it's the noisy minors that win the day. They and the blue-faced honeyeaters gang up on the magpies and butcherbirds and our cats, and drive them away from the trees back into the open or into the house! It creates quite a riot and hullabuloo, extremely funny to watch though! I love your proteas, we can't grow them here...
