Sunday cooking...take 2!

I did do a post earlier this arvo but just before I was ready to publish it just disappeared! So fingers crossed this works out. And this recipe for Coffee Cake is so yummy is needs to be shared! I discovered this recipe on One Crafty Mummas blog and it looked so nice I knew I must try, and I was not disappointed, it really is yummy. The kids couldn't wait for the icing to set before they sampled and instantly wanted (nagged) for seconds!

I also made some Steak and Tomato pies in the pie machine...really good pie weather here as it's turned really cold!

I hope you found time today to do something you enjoy!

Vintage Find!!!

Sometimes it pays to check out your local Vinnies (thrift) store...I popped in today hoping to find a mirror, but was delighted when I came accross these Vintage patchwork curtains. 2 full length lined (and matching) patchwork curtains for only $3!

and this one has a bird...you all know how I love birds!!!

The dress that Sophia is now wearing I purchased from Vinnies was once a serviette! So sometimes it even pays to think outside the square at what these little vintage finds can also become!!!

Bye For Now!

Crochet African Flower Hexagon

I have really been enjoying making these crochet hexagons table mats and decided another one was needed with a cream edging

I then found a tutorial for a African Flower from Heidi Bears and thought it would also look lovely made into a table mat. The tutorial for this is given in great detail too!

Enjoy your week!

Crochet!

As the weather here has turned cold the last few days, I have made the most of it by staying indoors and doing some crochet. I started off by completing a doiley made some years back and turning it into a jug cover. A Chevron stitched Tea cozy, and last night a dish cloth. And have to admit I am totally hooked on crochet and have plans on making a hexagon table mat next!

I have also made a fabric tea cozy but will have to save that one for another post.

I hope you have found time to do something you enjoy too!

Happy Easter!

Just a quickie post today wishing everyone a safe and happy Easter!

This photo is of all (okay some of) the purchases from my favourite local shop Bear Cottage Crafts...all is required now is a birdie to hang from the little cage (on the to do list) and design a table cloth to match this little display. I am also making the most of my Roses while they are still flowering and bringing inside!

Happy Easter!

Wish I had lots of Easter sewing to show, but it's only some previously made Easter items...

a stuffed bunny from Homespun magazine made a couple of years back...I really liked making the bunny and ended up making 3! Two were the original size and this one I reduced the pattern to make a bit smaller.

Each night I like to pack up all the extra cushions and quilts I have on our bed into a neat stack (before hubby comes in and throws them on the floor lol!) I thought they looked all pretty together and took a photo

And playing again with my photos...Sophia with one of my felt easter eggs also made a few years back from Homespun magazine. Lots of these felt eggs were made and even a couple made for teachers as Easter gifts.

It seems I have the cleaning bug and not the sewing bug these days, the house has been given the once over now but I really hope I return to wanting to do some sewing soon!

Bye For Now

Edit Both of these projects were in Homespun No 46 Vol.8 No.3
