Crochet a long

My sister and I have both been keen to start a crochet project and decided to do a crochet a long and make a cushion together. The pattern is a freebie (and easy), so if anyone would like to join us, just let me know (I will add your link to my sidebar) and we can all encourage each other along the way to the finish line! I have even talked Mum into doing it also, so I will share some photo's of Mums work along the way. If you pop over to Janes blog, she has the link to the Copenhagen Pillow pattern.

I have been playing with a few african flowers, just to get back into the swing of things!

And they quickly grew!
Now I have my colours worked out, I am ready to start!

My Project Life...

Well it has taken me quite some time to put together my first few pages of my PL Album together...i am still waiting on a few more supplies but as they arrive I can go back over my pages and add things if needed.

I have kept things quite simple...this is my Cover page

And week four...which is where I am making a start as I didn't even start scrapbooking until mid January

week 4 a photo of Dad taken back in the late 1950's turned up in our local newsletter when he played in the local cricket team...along with photos of my 3 uncles, 2 of which have now passed away.

I am really enjoying this so much...wished I had done it sooner!

And heres a little snapshot of a plate full of flowers in my craft room...real ones (Jane McGrath rose) and some made with lace and fabric, taken with my new iphone (which I am loving so much).
I have also joined Instagram, so look out for cubbyhousecrafts there too for some more pics

Bye For Now
I am off to trace a stitchery for this months stitch-a-long project

Project Life....

Blogland seems buzzing at the moment with Project Life, and it has made it hard for me to resist starting my own project life album too. This is a way I can keep track of what's happening in my life, whether it's crafting, family, cooking, gardening and doing it all with my other love of taking photo's.
Now I just have to wait for my album and supplies to arrive.
Have you been tempted to start Project Life too?

I never thought my visit to the dark side could be so much fun! Lol! My first card was made yesterday morning, and with the arrival of my die and embossing machine in the afternoon, I was busy making felt flowers with my flower die last night. The flowers could be used in many different crafts! Now I am off to do some more creating!

Craft Room...

As I don't have much room in my sewing room now for my new hobby cardmaking/scrapping...I have decided to set up a table in my old 'outside' sewing room. This room is part of the shed and once hubbies workshop

and no i haven't just had a pizza delivery for those who noticed the box...the prettiest  scrapbook paper arrived in it

a few little stamp purchases

this is the paper from inside the pizza box...so pretty!
Now to do some more organizing

A New Hobby...

We spent a few days away holidaying at Shearwater resort recently. Whilst walking around the shopping complex just over the road from the resort, I spotted a lovely little shop called Paperdolls Scrap'n'Card. I fell in love with all the pretty cardstocks, ribbons and lace! I purchased a few things, in pic below. I was given some catalogues by the owner of the shop to take and have a look at...my mind was racing with all the ideas for scrapping, journals and cardmaking!!!

I came home searching the internet on cardmaking and all the products available, and was quite overwhelmed at all the products available! Let's just say that the postman is going to be very busy delivering parcels next week! hehe!

A new shop opened up here in town a few months back, which I only managed to visit yesterday...and look what I found

the prettiest vintage lace, old postards and vintage buttons

They are going to come in very handy!!

all these ideas have had me looking back through my old journals, one of them Helen Stubbings "Life is Beautiful' journal. I really loved decorating the cover with my handmade crochet motifs and vintage laces and buttons from my stash. And now I have a few more to work with!(If I can actually cut into them that is)lol

Yes Life is Beautiful! Oh the excitemaent of finding a new hobby!

In the sewing room...

I have been wanting to make a cover for my iPad and as I had a few Tilda scraps left over from another project, I decided to use them for my new cover.

The cover is made the same way as the gathered clutch, which I made before Christmas.

the cute little sewing charms a gift from a lovely blogging friend (thanks Leanne!)

Another little thread bag made last week

love this blue floral fabric !!!

Now it's time to have a play with a new app on the iPad 'photo cookbook' and decide what I can cook this arvo!

Bye For Now!!

First project completed for 2013!

Tonight I completed my first project for 2013...it is only small and very quick and easy to make too! This little thread catcher is from Natalie Birds Red Home book, but I think it makes a cute little gift bag to hold fabrics etc.

you can also see more of these cute little thread bags on the stitch-a-long blog

The fabric used is Rosies Love Letters...such a pretty fabric range!

But I do caution you...you can't make just one of these little bags as they become addictive!lol!
Now to find some more fabric to make another!!!
Bye For Now!
