This vintage flower pincushion is from Christine Books 'Stitched Vintage'. I covered a button with a old Crinoline Lady embroidered doiley that I had purchased from an op shop last year. It had horrible stains on it, which couldn't be removed, but luckily the embroidery was fine. (So I didn't feel so bad about cutting it up) The doiley had a Crinoline Lady in 2 corners and the other 2 corners had 2 lovely flower covered arches. So I am finding projects which I can use these on...Rosalie Qinlan has An Embroidered Bird in her 'A Stitch in Time' book, which is next on the list!
Hope you are having a great week!

What a wonderful idea. I hear a dinging in my head as I think of all the items I have in which I could use your idea. So smart! Lovely stitching and piecing you did with these cheerful fabrics. The person who embroiderd this lady would be thrilled over your creation! XO
What a lovely way to use a doilie.
You have done it again Lisa..another fantastic creation...
Gorgeous pincushion
Great idea for the stained doiley
I love that pincushion! I have been making some from wool lately, but that's a very pretty one! I am pretty new to blogging, it's so much fun. I liked reading all your posts...thanks for sharing!
That is a great use of recycling Lisa. May have to try that. Love the pincushion.
