Christmas display

I have enjoyed seeing around blogland everyones christmas displays so I have decided to share a few pics of my own

This jolly chap is sitting on my outdoor table under the verandah...and as its been a bit windy the last couple of days it did take a while to part his beard and find a face...it was quite funny to discover the first thing I saw was his big nose! Lol!

These little felt ornies were made quite a few years back, before I could do any handstitching and most of them were just glued!

Now I am sure I had filled my bon bon with candy canes and now they seem to be all gone...sneaky kids! Even the Christmas Goose basket was once full! My santa doll towards the back is a doll I made for my son quite a while ago and he was played with quite a bit and seems to be missing a bit of hair.

I have finally got around to trying the pizza oven and as we are going to cook our roast in it on Christmas day I thought it wise to have a practice first...good thing we did as hubby had to play around with the switch before it would work

And I must say the the chicken was really yummy!

I have been watching quite a few christmas cooking shows on the food channel lately, and everyone seems to have a glazed christmas ham...this is something that I have never bothered with at Christmas but have wondered whether to give it a go...do you glaze your ham? Any feedback appreciated!

I hope you all have a great weekend...Not many sleeps now!

Loved the tour seeing all your lovely creations! Thae roaster looks yummy and it has such a pretty browning. I always take the easy way out and buy the Smithfield Ham that includes the glazing...It is very good! Thanks again for sharing your pretties!

Warmest Wishes,

G'day. Your Chrissy decorations look lovely and that chook looks delicious. I can almost taste it. I glaze a ham every year and this year I am trying a very simple receipe. It's a baked ham with barbecue glaze. 1/2 cup BBQ sauce. I tbsp Dijon Mustard. Combine the BBQ sauce and mustard with 1/2 cup water, simmer for 5 minutes until thickened slighlty. Remove skin from ham, score the fat,but not right through. Spread with mustard mixture and cook for 2 (@ 170 or 150 fan forced) hours, basting ham every 30 minutes or so.I try out a different glaze every year and have not used this one before, so can't vouch for the taste of it. It's in the Coles Christmas magazine. Take care. Liz...

All your Christmas ornaments look so pretty. Funny how the bon bon and basket are empty :) Good idea to try the oven out before the big day.

Your decorations are gorgeous. It's lovely to see them. Yes, we've done a glazed ham a few times now. I always thought it would be difficult, but it is easy peasy to do and looks so impressive. We remove the skin, then score the fat and place cloves on all the crosses. We use a plum glaze that was in a Coles magazine a few years ago, but there seem to be heaps of variations. We do ours in the hooded BBQ. Well worth the very little effort. Give it a go.

My husband does a glazed ham every year. Most definitely give it a go. Not only does it taste amazing but looks fantastic as well. Every year he searches magazines and cookbooks for a different glaze. There are so many to choose from. This year he is going to try cooking it in the BBQ. xxx

We do a wicked easy glaze - we first criss-cross the ham and put a clove at each cross, then we mix brown sugar and some pineapple juice so its nice and thick, then plop that on the top and cook at the required temp/time for the ham.
