I have made 4 more Hexie flowers and have sorted out what I was doing wrong with my first one...I had to make the thread tension a bit tighter, so the thread wouldn't show through from the front. I think I am now ready to start on the 3/4 inch hexies needed for Anni Downs' pincushion from last Homespun. These flowers I have made so far , were made using the 1 inch paper template. I found the best storage for my hexie gear, is just a biscuit tin, and the finished hexies I can store in the plastic sleeve of my latest folder.
Still anxiously waiting for my 'Cream Mink' Protea to open!

I thought it was cold on the weekend...well its even colder here today...can definately tell theres snow on the mountain!

Hi Lisa, that protea is going to be just gorg. Hey girlfriend, blogger is doing some weird things with your posts as there must me 7 or 8 of them that come up but each one is the same except for the title - gremlins in the system eh?
hugs, Miche'le

I have the same design, but on a round tall tin! They brought them out for Xmas 2 years ago (2008) at Big W.
The protea bud is beautiful in itself! It's cold up here, like, 10 degrees overnight. So you must be freezing!!!
What are you going to make all the hexie flowers into? lap, wall, bed quilt....?
